However, the Tech 2 is not compatible with 2014-newer GM vehicles.
The tools listed below are compatible with all GM vehicles 1996-current.
They can be used with GM software for J2534 programming and scan tool diagnostics for 1996-current vehicles:

If you work primarily on GM you might want to choose the MongoosePro GM II.
It is the least expensive of the three tools listed above.
If you work primarily on GM and want capabilities for other OE’s then choose the CarDAQ-Plus 2.
If you work primarily on GM and want capabilities for other OE’s and want to add updates to the tool (if an update is ever released), then choose the CarDAQ-M.
